Cancer Prevention Month

February is National Cancer Prevention Month and the Junior Women’s Club of Lake Murray held a special fundraising event benefiting SCOA Cares, the nonprofit associated with South Carolina Oncology Associates (SCOA).

We were proud to team up with barre3 Lake Murray and hold a class for a cause. Over twenty-five ladies gathered together for a challenging workout (Thanks Leigh-Ann!), donations to a great cause, and a goodie bag filled with fun treats that were educational and recognized those being treated and working to prevent cancer.

SCOA Cares provides financial assistance to cancer patients helping them bridge their insurance, afford medications, or get transportation to their treatments. The goal of SCOA Cares is to get every patient to the bell, signifying the end of their cancer journey.

We had an amazing morning, a great workout, and donated almost $400 dollars to a wonderful cause! Thank you to barre3 and all those who participated!
